To truly know the heart & soul of Mercedez, you need look no further than Jim Loebig, the band’s founder. After many years of success in other band projects such as Cities and Betty Rocker, this extremely gifted performer took his consummate guitar skills, combined them with his keen writing ability and his love of both dance and rock music. He cast a vision for a cutting-edge, high-energy dance project that would be laced with elements of rock, and he worked hard to make this vision come to life. Because his concept crossed the lines of rock and dance genres, embraced the best of both musical extremes and brought them together to create a new sound and style all its own, it immediately caught on like wildfire—and the rest was history.

The Mercedez project was immediately in high demand and was booked solid at public and private shows alike. Jim enjoyed several years of success with the band both at home and on the road, interrupted only by a brief assignment in Los Angeles as an audio engineer. Upon his return, he joined the extremely successful Circle of Friends band and enjoyed yet another wave of success with them before re-establishing the Mercedez name. This time around, with several original members, combined with some fresh new talent, Mercedez is hotter than ever! And Jim continues to be a powerhouse of talent and a driving force in shaping the band’s unique sound.
